IAG expands Aer Lingus transatlantic fleet

International Airlines Group (IAG) is to add two Airbus 330-300 aircraft to the Aer Lingus fleet next year.

IAG, which owns Aer Lingus, said the new longhaul planes will facilitate expansion on Aer Lingus’ transatlantic network.

“The modern, fuel efficient aircraft will bring both cost efficiencies and environmental benefits to the airline,” IAG said in a statement.

The group said it negotiated the aircraft at a discount on the original list price of $414 million (€372 million).
