For Culture Night, most galleries and some artists' studios have laid on special events. Two front-rank performance artists are active in Dublin: Nigel Rolfe at the Green on Red Gallery and Amanda Coogan at Kevin Kavanagh. Her four-hour performance coincides with the opening of her exhibition covering two years devoted to a series of six Yellow performances, the concluding one of which will be staged during the Ulsterbank Dublin Theatre Festival. The videos and photographs in her Kevin Kavanagh show ( Cutpiece As a Mountain, pictured) document the Yellow performances to date. Coogan, whose work usually entails ritual, endurance and cultural iconography, is the leading practitioner of performance in the country. AIDAN DUNNE
