One of Annika Ström's more recent works was the self- explanatory performance piece, Ten Embarrassed Men, at last year's Frieze Art Fair. The Swedish Hove-based artist is currently working on the development of what she hopes is her first feature film. In the meantime, you can get a flavour of Ström's work in this, her first Irish solo show, curated by Aoife Tunney.

From the Community Hallincorporates an ambiguous wooden installation that could be a stage, designed for public performance or, equally, "a piece of furniture kept in a private space", a domestic hallway. It's adorned with decorative textiles. Films of past performances are screened in the gallery, works that continue the dialogue between the private and the public.

Ström is drawn to everyday environments and interactions, in which “both humour and melancholy prevail”. Her practice even encompasses paintings of snappy texts, one of them consisting of the succinct instruction: “Please remove me from your mailing list.”
