Artist Blaise Smith’s Schoolworks exhibition at Visual in Carlow features fly-on-the-wall paintings of everyday class activity at the Presentation College, a co-ed secondary school in the town. Smith “attended” school for a whole year, observing scholastic life from the back of the class to produce these paintings, which were commissioned by the school. “What I see is what you get,” he explains.

Pictured left are four girls in home economics class. The exhibition runs until January 6th and then transfers to the Crawford Gallery in Cork.
