Here's an unpretentious platform action game with a novel control system. Explodemontakes place in a dystopian future where the earth is under attack. Cue Explodemon, a dangerous maverick and the planet's only hope. In his exploding suit, our hero can jump great heights, knock down barriers and dispose of nasty aliens, against a backdrop of badly translated dialogue: "What creamed surprise," he says when he hears from a friend. "Fail ending," says the onscreen text when you die. As a side-scrolling platform game, Explodemonis appealing. The combat system of contained explosions is distinctive and engages you with your onscreen enemies in gratifying close-quarter combat. The physics (including small explosions that help you jump) is logical, and there are satisfying puzzles. Buy it while you're still healthy, or (to quote Explodemon) before "your number of days".
