Some 20 years ago, my teenage thumbs were endlessly occupied with Rock ’n’ Roll Racing, with its electronic versions of classic rock songs and its arsenal of weapons. Irresistible. Wrecked: Revenge Revisited borrows liberally from the old classic, with added elements of mines, missiles, bullets and other trinkets. Rarely has a title squandered so much promise. What should have been a simple, feisty game is a limited, unforgiving ordeal. Single-player games consist of challenges that range from the sometimes fun to the repetitive to the insanely rigid. There’s little progression, few proper races and only a handful of tracks. The online play fares a little better, but again, with few tracks, it’s deeply inadequate. Revenge Revisited has a short shelf life, so I predict the online arenas will soon be left vacant.
