Kenny’s Prime Time appearance delayed by Eastenders killer

Taoiseach’s live interview pushed back due to climax of ‘Who killed Lucy Beale?’ mystery

Taoiseach Enda Kenny's live studio interview on RTÉ's Prime Time has been pushed back by a half hour, due to tonight's extended climax for the "Who killed Lucy Beale?" storyline on the popular soap Eastenders.

Mr Kenny had been due to appear on the current affairs programme with Miriam O'Callaghan at 9.25pm tonight. However, RTÉ bosses have decided to delay the interrogation of the State's leader in order to screen a special Eastenders: The Flashback episode at that time.

RTÉ sources say they took the decision to push back the screening in order to simulcast the full television event with the BBC, so that domestic Eastenders fans would not be disappointed. The flashback episode follows on from an earlier hour-long episode of the soap at 7.30pm.

Prime Time will screen instead at 10pm.
