If you’re only just beginning to get into fitness, or only just getting back into it, chances are the closest runners you have to hand won’t be right for exercising. It’s important that you get ones that are, in order to avoid strain or injury.

Triathlon Ireland have a good guide if you’re looking for information on what goes into buying the right runners, but it’s always worth visiting a shop which specialises in runners to have the staff advise you properly. Often they will offer you gait-analysis as well.

If you are committing to running or jogging, it’s also worth investing in some decent socks. Avoid cotton, and look for socks that will wick away moisture. It’ll help you avoid blisters and keep running longer.
