THE SOCIAL NETWORK:Brendan Courtney was walking on broken glass at the launch of the Arnotts Shoe Garden on Tuesday evening. The Off the Rails presenter bumped into a waiter carrying glasses; one of them fell to smithereens and Courtney walked on the debris by accident.

The Shoe Garden was opened by the singer and television presenter Alesha Dixon. The Strictly Come Dancing winner was driven down Henry Street in a Mercedes. She returns as a judge on the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in January. She said she loves wearing nude-coloured shoes and recommends them to women who want to make their legs look longer.

The fashion show was well choreographed; Dixon popped on to the catwalk at the end and displayed a few Strictly Come Dancing moves.

Virginia Macari was taking two hours off from minding her baby boy, Thor. She and fellow Dublin Wives star Roz Flanagan had a go on one of the Shoe Garden swings.
