Sandra, a project worker with the Teen Parents Support Programme, met carpenter and builder Roy in the Icon Nightclub in Limerick city.

In 2012, he proposed on Avoca Beach in New South Wales, Australia, when the pair were visiting for Sandra’s sister’s wedding.

They were married in a church ceremony on July 30th, 2015, and held their reception at the Armada Hotel on Spanish Point in the groom’s native Co Clare.

Their daughter Royah Marie was 11 months at the time and one of the highlights of the day for the couple was that she was there to share it with them.

They also agree that “we couldn’t have done any of it without both our parents, the amazing Tom and Marie Burke and Brian and Mary Kennedy”.

The bride’s sisters Sonya McCabe and Maria Montana were bridesmaids with best friend Aideen O’Brien. Groomsmen were Roy’s best friend Paul Conroy, his brother Mark and friend Kevin Browne.

What was their favourite part of the day? “Everything. But, probably the dance floor that night.”

Vocal harmony quartet 4 in a Bar played at the drinks reception, The Stars performed after dinner and the newlyweds' first dance was to Your World by Declan O'Rourke. For their honeymoon, Sandra and Roy spent a week enjoying a Mediterranean cruise and one week in Spain with their daughter, Sandra's parents and her sister Sonya and family.
