GERMAN BLOGGER Kai Müller kicks off a month-long tour of Ireland this week which will see him visit almost every corner of the island, as voted for by his online community of followers in Germany. He’ll blog about his experiences as he goes, with each destination prompted by his followers.
The blog is being backed by Tourism Ireland which wants to see more Germans coming this summer than the 379,000 who holidayed here last year. “Ireland holds strong appeal for Germans, ranking at number five on Germans’ ‘wish-list’ of places to visit in 2011,” says Barbara Wood of Tourism Ireland. “There is plenty of untapped potential in the market, particularly given that the German economy is performing well.”
