Champions League

Next Wednesday's Champions League fixture between Atletico Madrid and Liverpool has been something of a fiasco, with Uefa initially attempting to force Atletico to play the game away from their home ground, the Vicente Calderón Stadium, as punishment for their fans' behaviour in Marseille at the beginning of the month.

Uefa has since backed down, and the game is now going ahead in Madrid as planned. Sportstours (01-4572311, www.sportstours.ie) is offering a considerably more straightforward offer for the return leg, at Anfield on Tuesday, November 4th: a match ticket and one night's bed and breakfast in a three-star hotel for €319 per person. It's safe to suggest you won't be left wondering what part of England you'll end up watching that game in.

Premiership

Back in the Premiership, Manchester United are putting their stuttering start behind them and getting back in gear, thanks to the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and the return to form of Wayne Rooney (above). Stoke, on the other hand, haven't quite thrived since arriving, but they'll be hoping to emulate their achievement at Anfield, where they nicked a point, when they make a visit to Old Trafford on Saturday, November 15th. IST Sports (01-8061753, www.istsports.ie) is offering a one-night package for €269 per person, which includes match ticket, accommodation in a city-centre hotel, a two-course meal in the Hard Rock Café and vouchers for the United Megastore.

Sportstours (01-4572311, www.sportstours.ie) is offering a two-night package that includes return flights, accommodation in the four-star Renaissance Hotel and match ticket for €399 per person, plus tax.
