Not content with providing one of the best adventure-break outfits in the Killarney hills, Nathan Kingerlee, of Outdoors Ireland, has decided to take on a bit of John B Keane-style matchmaking, and is organising a number of weekends for singles only. Based in the four-star Randles Court Hotel, the weekend involves hiking, climbing, and kayaking with a group of single like-minded individuals on Saturday and Sunday, February 27th and 28th, with plenty of more relaxing options available for beginners.
“This will be the second weekend. We had a great weekend on the first one and there is one couple out of it who are still together,” says Kingerlee. “I feel a bit like a proud father, checking in with them to see how they are getting on.”
All transport, food and equipment is provided, with an age profile of 26 to 40, and a price of €255 for the weekend. Kingerlee has plenty of women on his books, but single men with a taste for the outdoors are seemingly thin on the ground.
“Most guys are fairly useless when it comes to making the effort outside of a nightclub. I’d be the same, I’m absolutely hopeless,” laughs Kingerlee. Maybe the Kerry hills are the perfect place to find some love. John B Keane would be proud. www.outdoorsireland.com or 086-8604563.
