TECHNOLOGY:THE HILL of Tara is steeped in legend but visitors need to take a guided tour – otherwise it's just a hill with some grassy mounds. Now, thanks to technology, you can take an expert tour there any time you want.
The new tour is an audio guide – think of it as a podcast tour – with music and sound effects. It covers every monument on the hill, plus background topics. Visitors can buy the tour on a souvenir player at Tara gift shop or download the 80-minute commentary from the web to their own MP3 device (ingeniousireland.ie).
