Saddle up

The inaugural Ride and Tide Endurance Festival takes place in Westport, Co Mayo from February 25th to 27th. The event, which involves cross country and endurance riding with running and orienteering by horseback, starts in Westport and follows a planned route to the foothills of Croagh Patrick and through the islands of Clew Bay.

The estimated amount generated for the local economy by the Eden Project in Cornwall, which celebrates its 10th birthday next month. Nearly 13 million people have visited the attraction, near St Austell, since it opened in March 2001.
