Cork service resumes
Air Southwest’s service from Cork Airport to Devon and Cornwall in southwest England has resumed this week. Air Southwest operates three flights a week to Plymouth in Devon and Newquay in Cornwall, giving access to top tourist attractions like the Eden Project, Tate St Ives, the National Marine Aquarium, and foodie towns like Padstow where Rick Stein has his restaurants, cafes and cookery school.
Fares start at €59 one-way and include all taxes and charges, 15kg baggage allowance and complimentary in-flight refreshments.

Irish Americans keen to travel
A new survey of Irish Americans shows one in five plan to visit Ireland this year, with almost two-thirds hoping to make the trip in 2012. The survey of 1,100 carried out by Amárach shows that physical ties to Ireland are strong, with seven in 10 having visited at some point. Of those planning to come this year 65 per cent will go to Dublin, 55 per cent Galway, 44 per cent Cork, 31 per cent Donegal. Only 1 per cent will visit Westmeath.
Music, film and literature are the topics of most interest to those over the age of 55, while music, dance and literature most engage 18 to 34-year-olds.
A third of respondents believe that Riverdance is most symbolic of modern Ireland.
