Taxis 'third friendliest'

DUBLIN cab drivers have been nominated by tourists as the third friendliest in the world

DUBLIN cab drivers have been nominated by tourists as the third friendliest in the world. They are also regarded as providing the eighth best service in the world, according to a survey carried by Hotels.com.

Fine Gael tourism spokesman Jimmy Deenihan said it was to the “great credit” that visitors regarded Dublin taxi drivers so well. Fáilte Ireland should work with the National Taxi Drivers Union and the regulator to ensure taxi drivers can better assist with tourists’ queries. “Ireland’s reputation as a welcoming, warm country is one of our great strengths”.
