CONSUMER AWARDS:HAVE YOU GOT a favourite travel company? A travel website you'd recommend to friends?
For the first time, Irish consumers can tell the travel industry exactly what they think, with the launch of the Irish Consumer Travel Awards. Consumers can vote for their favourite holiday destination, hotel, airline, travel agent, travel website and tour operator, among other categories.
The awards are sponsored by Go, the online travel agent Ebookers.ie and the Irish travel magazine Abroad.
Voting will be independently monitored and audited by the Tourism Research Centre at Dublin Institute of Technology.
Steven Rice, Ebookers’s manager in Ireland, says: “The Consumer Travel Awards will be the first time the Irish general public will be able to voice their opinions directly to the travel trade on who’s hot. All the voting will be independently audited to ensure transparency, and we’re really looking forward to hearing what Irish people have to say about the main players in our industry.”

The winners will be announced on April 21st, at a gala dinner compered by Kathryn Thomas at the RDS, in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
