This is not so much a crash sensor as a crash alert. You pair it with your smartphone via Bluetooth and attach it to the bike helmet. It monitors your motion, and if the ICEdot detects a critical level of extreme changes suggesting an impact or accident, it initiates a countdown after which an automatic alert is sent to pre-stored emergency contacts. It also sends the GPS co-ordinates so they'll find you. If you've haven't had a critical "fail" you can stop the alert timer before it summons the cavalry. Eagle Creek Adventure Pop Top carry-on

Californian adventure travel brand Eagle Creek claims to have introduced the first convertible wheelie backpack. Its Adventure Pop Top has a two-in-one trick too, changing from a small under-seat carry-on to a larger overhead version with just a few zips. It expands to offer 60 per cent more capacity, going from 28l to 45l with two-way, lockable zip access to the main compartments. Underneath there are sturdy wide-spaced wheels. $235 from amazon.com

CRG LED running gloves

CRG stands for convertible running glove, so some doubling up on the naming front, but otherwise lots of ideas integrated here. All the fingers work with touchscreens so mobile devices stay swipeable. The gloves are in stretchable fleece, but there is also a water and wind resistant hood which folds over mitten-style.
