Is science a matter for public debate? Do you feel that the public’s perspective is being heard when issues related to scientific research are discussed?

This week’s question examines whether researchers, industry and those setting national policy on scientific investment need to engage the public more in discussions relating to science. Or should we be more proactive in attempting to make our voices heard on these issues rather than waiting until a point of contention arises?
