Irishman Roy Kinnear appointed to head Air Seychelles

Kinnear joining the airline from Etihad Airways

Irishman Roy Kinnear has been appointed chief executive of Air Seychelles.

Mr Kinnear, who hails from Co Armagh, joins the airline from Etihad Airways where he held a number of roles including senior vice president of revenue management and planning.

Air Seychelles is 40 per cent owned by Etihad Airways.

Mr Kinnear’s appointment comes into effect on July 1st.

The Irishman holds an honours degree in economics and statistics from University of Ulster. He began his career in the aviation industry with bmi, where he held the position of general manager revenue optimisation. He moved to Bahrain to become head of network revenue management at Gulf Air from 2002 to 2006 before moving to Abu Dhabi to join Ethihad.

Mr Kinnear has also previously been a board member and chairman of Amadeus Gulf and Armaguard, both joint ventures of Etihad Airways.
