Liquidator for Weston Aerodrome confirmed

THE HIGH Court has confirmed the appointment of a liquidator to the company operating Weston Aerodrome in Co Dublin.

THE HIGH Court has confirmed the appointment of a liquidator to the company operating Weston Aerodrome in Co Dublin.

Ms Justice Mary Laffoy yesterday appointed Luke Charleton of Ernst Young as liquidator and granted him power to continue employment and to borrow. She also directed hotelier Jim Mansfield and his sons Patrick and Anthony to verify a statement of affairs up to the time they resigned from the company.

The Mansfields had stepped down from the board of the Weston company in May.

A new four-member board, comprising John McInerney, Patrick Shanahan, Patrick Ryan and Ray Jackson, was then appointed. The board sought the appointment of a provisional liquidator last month after saying the company could not pay the legal bills arising from Mr Mansfield’s planning battles.
