Ryanair to open Copenhagen base

Airline to invest over $400m in the airport and will boost traffic there by 1m passengers a year

Ryanair plans to open a new base at Copehagen Airport in Denmark in March, from where the no-frills airline will initially serve London, Milan Bergamo and Warsaw.

The Irish airline will base the first of four craft at Copenhagen from March and will follow up its announcement of three new services from to and from the airport with a further 10 routes in the New Year. It will ultimately operate more than 100 flights a-week from there.

The company’s chief commercial officer, David O’Brien, says it will be investing over $400 million in the airport and will boost traffic there by one million passengers a-year, which it claims will create up to 1,000 new jobs.
