These days TV is a bit more flexible and a bit less tied to the living room. We have more control over our TV – where we watch it, when we watch it. Online TV service AerTV has unveiled its new iOS application, bringing the service to the iPhone and iPad. There are two versions of the AerTVservice through the app: free and subscription. Live Irish terrestrial channels are available free, but if you want more (BBC channels, mainly) you'll have to stump up for the monthly subscription fee of just under €6. The free version offers 17 channels in total to stream live to your mobile phone or tablet, including its own channels, such as AerTV Music, AerTV Sports, AerTV Movies, and The Gathering. It doesn't have quite the range of content of a streaming service such as Netflix, but it does bring Ireland's terrestrial channels into a single app free of charge. It works on 3G too, so you aren't trapped by the boundaries of your wifi connection. aertv.ie
