Space is an appropriate new location for Angry Birds, a game that’s conquered the known world with more than 700 million downloads. Angry Birds in Space is a logical sequel, offering new twists on the format without straying too far from it. Once again the aim of the game is to catapult furious fowl from the left of the screen to the right, attacking pigs and their fortresses. This time it’s interplanetary, and the pigs and birds are separated by space. Birds can now circle moons and small planets, and exploit the presence, variations or lack of gravity. Angry Birds in Space has a slightly funkier look to its predecessor, but nobody really plays these games for their graphics. As before, the gameplay is simple to pick up, impossible to master, and utterly compulsive. So how does a bird (let alone a pig) conquer interplanetary travel? Let’s not worry ourselves with such questions.
