Camp Rock: The Final Jam

Where there’s a Disney movie, there’s a game tie-in. Camp Rock: The Final Jam treads a well-worn path, adding just enough to keep its target audience entertained. Players create a customised avatar and join the Camp Rock gang in the inevitable showdown with rivals from Camp Star. The gameplay has been mixed up a little to include the story events of the film, and you get to play some virtual instruments, including guitar, bass, and drums.The game assumes a little too much knowledge of players, so some familiarity with the Jonas Bros co might be advisable. As far as kids’ games go, it has all the essential elements: puzzles and mini games, a familiar story and colourful graphics. The customised nature of your avatar is also a plus point, as you’re not simply stepping into the shoes of an established character. All in all, a solid tie-in.
