A new offering from Limerick- based Open Emotion Studios, Mad Blocker Alphais a simple but addictive little game that owes a lot to Tetris. Blocks fall from the top of the screen and it's your job to align them the right way. These blocks are comprised of individual bricks of different colours that represent different emotions (yellow bricks have scared emotions, for example, and red ones look angry). Match up four blocks with a common colour and they disappear; when the screen fills up it's game over. Within these parameters there are some nice variations as you progress to new levels – achieve a certain score, for example, or reach a certain point within a time limit. As a reasonably priced mini-game, Mad Blocker Alphascratches an itch nicely: it's challenging, well-presented, nicely scored and hard to stop playing.
