Horror for kids is a strange device, using the trappings of scary movies but in a more playful, innocent manner. In this platform game, you play "The Duke", whose skin, dark cloak and large incisors are similar to a certain Count on Sesame Street. The Duke is in pursuit of monsters who (probably) stole your princess. Jumping up platforms, you must chase and apprehend a different monster in each level, bouncing on their heads to knock them out.

The gameplay is simple to learn but quite difficult to master. Initially, speed of button-jabbing seems to have a greater bearing on success than genuine skill, until you master multiple jumps and bouncing off walls. It’s fun but repetitive. And why not have easier skill-settings?

This is a straightforward, playable platform game, and it’s got a good sense of humour. The onscreen tips could relate to real life as well: “Attract princesses by being awesome and wearing a cape.” Noted!
