From the opening menu, Moto GP is slickly packaged, with an impressive selection of bikes, bikers and tracks. Unlike some motorbike games, your avatar feels like a living, breathing character and not just a prop atop a machine. The deceptively basic control method is easy to learn (pushing the stick to control the direction and weight of the biker), but tricky to master. Once you do get the hang of it, the game flows nicely and increasing your speed and dexterity proves gratifying. Indeed, rewarding players for flamboyance is a nice touch. And you can also play online with up to 19 others.

Petrol-heads (though possibly not many other players) will relish the minute attention to detail: The standard racing game practice of customising extends to working on exhausts and filters. More casual racers might find the gameplay somewhat limited.
