Does the name Missile Strikering a bell? Released some 20 years ago, it asked players to fire missiles at incoming asteroids. Basic and addictive, it spawned numerous imitators. Which brings us to Rocks N' Rockets, a very, very similar game for a new audience. A less generous reviewer might say "rip-off".

Controlling a missile base on the bottom of the screen, you must fire a finite number of rockets to protect your city from asteroids. Different asteroids are vulnerable to different rockets. For example, something that would take out an ice meteor would have no effect on a falling fireball. The model of gameplay, perfected in the 1980s, is moderately entertaining but repetitive.

Rocks N' Rocketsis cheap as chips, but think twice before purchasing: similar games are free to play online and just a Google search away.
