The pink and white of Cocoa Brown’s bottles have been a familiar sight on shop shelves since 2012. This Irish product is no stranger to fame, having been the exclusive tanning partner at the 2014 pre-Oscars luxury gifting suite and having garnered the approval of Kylie Jenner, who posted a picture to her 30 million followers on Instagram last year, prompting a sell-out of the products in the US. Cocoa Brown Tan, which was founded by Marissa Carter, is based in Dublin and employs six people.

There are 11 products in the range; from tan to moisturiser, mitts to scrubs. The products are competitively priced. The tans include Night and Day Tan Mousse and One-Hour Tan Mousse. The Instant Tan Bronzing Gel (€6.99) comes in two versions, a matte and a shimmer. These are great for those last-minute tanners and give a lovely glow that is streak-free, a feature added in response to the frequent Irish rain. The Golden Goddess Dry Shimmer Body Oil (€11.95) can be applied to give an illuminating glow to highlight areas of the skin, such as the décolletage.
