Miu Miu celebrates the madness of glamour this autumn/winter

"The madness of glamour in front of an uncertain future," said Miuccia Prada, describing Miu Miu's autumn/winter collection of big colourful fake furs, tweeds, prints, chunky knits and glittering skirts and furry baker-boy hats. It was a bold statement that as usual gets a little watered-down when more sober versions hit the rails. In the meantime, the Miu Miu Women's Tales series of short films launches a new dedicated Instagram platform "to celebrate femininity in the 21st century".

T-shirts for poster girls

Highland bling

The new season’s Massimo Dutti campaign was shot in Scotland by Josh Olins using the rugged landscape as a backdrop for its natural silhouettes, suits and impeccably cut capes and greatcoats, along with knitwear, silk shirts and embellished dresses in muted, natural tones. It’s a look that’s elegant, safe but distinctive, as are the accompanying accessories.

Fun afoot

A zany and playful new line of footwear called Iri, with multicoloured hand-painted heels inspired by children's drawings and paintings, launches online in October. Its creative director, Janet Yeung, is a young Parsons graduate who grew up in Korea, Hong Kong and the USA and brings a wide perspective to her work. The shoes, which are made in Italy in a mix of fabrics including neoprene, nylon and calfskin, are a new and inventive take on sneakers – exuberant yet practical, with outsoles revamped with multicoloured hand-painting.
