Wear it out: State-side fashion inspires a festival look

Emaleigh Kelly’s style ranges from bohemian to cyber to feminine, depending on her mood

This week we met the beautiful flower child Emaleigh Kelly. Her look is the perfect one to steal some festival inspiration from. With festival season just kicking off we are all getting in touch with our inner hippie and planning our outfits.

Colourful and comfortable should be your aim for weekends spent in a tent in a field. We had a chat with Emaleigh to see how she creates her outfits.

Tell us a about your outfit today?
I was in New York last week sussing the place out, so pretty much everything I am wearing is a bargain from Brooklyn.

The denim jacket, tie-dye skirt, and Dr Martens are all from the L-train Vintage shops. I picked up the Harley tee in Manhattan while getting some badges for my parents. I’m also wearing pastel flying pig cloud socks (they are probably my favourite part of the outfit). Essential Kanken backpack.

My jewels are my usual, labradorite pendant and ring, mood rings– one from Barcelona and the other, New York. Yin yang ring from Berlin, and the tree of life from a stall on Grafton Street, and finally a teardrop moonstone I bought for myself the other day.

How would you describe your personal style?
My style ranges anything from bohemian to cyber to feminine, totally depending on my mood. You'll either catch me in my white Buffalos or my Dr Martens bryony lace buckle boots.

I’m pretty dedicated to wearing multiple shades and patterns of one colour, including my hair.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?
I'm looking forward to seeing the style at the Irish festivals. From bindis to bikinis and capes. We'll see. Entertainment wise, I'm going to my first Awakenings Festival in Amsterdam. A dream come true!
