Situated in Holywood, Co Down, are two distinctively luxurious residences boasting recently incorporated 13kW Grant Aerona R32 air source heat pumps, as part of a tailored Grant Integrated Heating solution.
The heating systems for these modern, contemporary residences, spanning 2,650sq ft and 3,114 sq ft, were meticulously designed by Grant’s in-house technical specialists. Collaborating closely with Distinguished Homes, the builder, and Colin McAuley Planning, the architectural designer, Grant’s specialists tailored the selection and sizing of heating technologies to optimize efficiency and deliver enduring cost benefits for the homeowners.
Commenting on the process of heating his new home, homeowner of one property, David McGowan said: “Grant’s free of charge heating design service has saved a lot of time and hassle for our builders. We were content to know that our heating system had been professionally designed and all heating technologies sized and specified correctly by Grant. I was also impressed that a representative from Grant came to our home to fully commission the heat pump and heating system. Additionally, they also gave us a step-by-step tutorial on how to work the full heating system to ensure we heat our home at its most efficient.”
As the main heat source for McGowan’s home, a 13kW Grant Aerona R32 air-to-water, air source heat pump was carefully installed, ensuring a dependable, efficient, and eco-conscious heating solution. Renowned for its excellence, the award-winning Grant Aerona series boasts an ERP rating of A+++, facilitating straightforward installation and aiding compliance with building regulations.
The Grant Aerona R32 heat pump range seamlessly integrates with other Grant heating technologies. Moreover, the 13kW Aerona R32 model has earned accolades for its remarkably quiet operation, recognised internationally by the prestigious Quiet Mark.
To enhance the overall efficiency of the system, a premium, energy-conscious hot water storage solution was integrated into McGowan’s property, which featured a 300-litre Grant MonoWave cylinder, ensuring continuous hot water supply.
For heating, the property owner installed the Grant Uflex underfloor heating system on the ground floor, and further extended this to the first floor. This contemporary heating solution efficiently distributes warmth while complementing the architectural design of the modern home. Additionally, Grant smart heating controls were incorporated into the heating package.
Barry Gorman, national renewables sales manager at Grant added: “We are delighted to have designed and specified a highly efficient and bespoke heating solution for each of these spectacular homes. The heating technologies which have been installed will futureproof the homes and deliver long term cost and carbon savings for the homeowners for many years to come.”
