Skipper Séamus Coleman ponders contract offer from Everton

The 35-year-old Ireland international admits it will be hard to walk away from the club he joined in 2009

Everton captain Séamus Coleman is mulling over the offer of a new contract with his current deal to expire next month.

The 35-year-old Ireland international, who signed a 12-month extension last summer, admits it will be hard to walk away from the club he joined from Sligo Rovers in 2009.

“We [the club] have got another year here at Goodison so I’m happy to have been offered something and I’ll have a think,” he told evertontv.

“This football club means everything to me and, as I said before when I signed my last contract, it is hard to walk away from something you love.
