Killashee Hotel has unveiled The Reserve at Killashee, a breathtaking property that redefines country living with an exquisite blend of luxury, privacy and sustainability. Officially launched last Friday, the event was marked by the presence of Martin Heydon, Minister for Food, alongside David Kelly, chief executive of FBD Hotels & Resorts, who celebrated the occasion at the stunning Rathasker estate in Co Kildare.

Nestled on its own 4.5-acre grounds, The Reserve offers an unparalleled hospitality experience. This ultra-luxurious residence boasts nine en suite bedrooms, accommodating up to 18 guests, alongside meticulously designed spaces including a diningroom, boardroom, library, and spacious living areas. Accessibility is a priority, with the entire property designed to be wheelchair-friendly.

Beyond the interiors, guests can indulge in wellness and relaxation at the transformed former stables, now a private haven featuring a sauna, hot tub, relaxation pods and fitness space. The patio decking area, complete with a BBQ station, extends the leisure offering, while the estate’s mature gardens provide scenic walking trails.

Speaking at the launch, David Kelly expressed gratitude to Liz Hart, the project’s interior designer, and Cantrell & Crowley Architects, praising their efforts in creating a self-contained, sustainable and uniquely welcoming space. “The Reserve is a great example of sustainable tourism in line with the growing demand for environmentally conscious travel. Everything in the building has been designed with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind. Renewable energy systems have been installed including air to water technology and solar panels on the roof, and all nine bedrooms have air conditioning. Incorporating wellness into this new offering was really important, with the Wellness Pods, walking trails and outdoor yoga spaces to the complete experience.”

Designed for versatility, The Reserve can be booked independently or as an extension of Killashee Hotel’s events. Whether for corporate retreats, weddings, yoga courses or private gatherings, it offers an ideal setting for intimate and large-scale occasions alike. Guests can enjoy menus specifically curated for The Reserve or dine at Killashee Hotel’s celebrated restaurants, including The Pippin Tree and Oak & Anvil. Access to the hotel’s spa and leisure centre further enhances the luxurious experience.

Since acquiring Killashee in 2022 FBD Hotels & Resorts has committed substantial investment to elevate the property, from the refurbishment of the original Manor House to the transformation of The Spa. Last year the company expanded further with the purchase and renovation of The Bower guest house, bringing an additional €2 million investment into crafting The Reserve at Killashee.
