Deliveroo expands deliveries into Kildare, Meath and Louth

Services now available to 39% of population

Deliveroo continues to expand its presence in the State with a move into counties Louth, Kildare and Meath.

This follows expansion into Waterford earlier in the year, and means Deliveroo’s services will now be available to 39 per cent of the population, or 1.9 million people.

Deliveroo launched in the Republic in 2015 and now works with about 1,800 restaurants here, as well as Drogheda, Dundalk, Naas, Newbridge and Navan.

"In addition to creating valuable opportunities for riders, our sustained growth in Ireland will be a boost to local restaurants, which will be able to reach new customers and grow their businesses through food delivery," said Paddy Quinlan, growth manager for Deliveroo Ireland.

As well as offering deliveries from restaurants, Deliveroo's partnership with Aldi for groceries is available to an estimated 1.5 million shoppers. The company also has similar on-demand partnerships with, among others, Fallon and Byrne, Mace, Spar and Londis.

Launched in London in 2013, Deliveroo operates in more than 500 cities and towns across 12 markets.

Revenues at Deliveroo Ireland doubled last year to €26.3 million as more customers ordered from restaurants during the Covid lockdowns. The company also recorded a €645,270 pretax profit for 2020 as against a €365,603 loss in 2019.
