Fyffes directors paid remuneration of almost €4 million

Food group reported earnings before interest, tax and amoritisation of €32.7m last year

Fyffes paid its directors a total remuneration package of almost €4 million last year, including €1.06 million to chairman David McCann.

Mr McCann received a bonus of €347,000 on top of a basic salary of €695,000.

The company’s chief operating officer Coen Bos received a package of €644,000, up from €631,000 in 2012. He was paid a basic salary of €415,000 and a bonus of €208,000. Finance director Tom Murphy was paid a salary of €339,000 and a bonus of €170,000.

The four non-executive directors were paid a total of €250,000, up from €213,000 in 2012.

Fyffes reported earnings before interest, tax and amortisation of €32.7 million last year, up 6.9 per cent on 2012. Adjusted earnings per share of 8.82 cent were 3.2 per cent higher.

The company recently announced it would merge with US food group Chiquita, to create the world's largest banana firm.
