Locks moves back into the black

Michelin-starred Locks Brasserie in Dublin recorded profits of more than €100,000 in its most recent financial year. Accounts for the Portobello restaurant, run by Sebastien Masi, show that it came out of the red with profits of €103,337 in the 12 months to the end of October 2012.

This resulted in accumulated losses of €2,613 for the restaurant firm – William Elliott Ltd – turning into an accumulated profit of €100,724.

During the same period the firm’s cash pile increased from €112,250 to €129,346.

Locks Brasserie won its first Michelin star last September.

A French chef working in Ireland for the past 19 years, Masi took ownership of Locks Brasserie in 2010 having operated the Pearl Brasserie on Dublin’s Merrion Street since 2000. He could not be reached for comment yesterday.

Separate accounts for Masi's other restaurant, Pearl Brasserie show that it also enjoyed good fortune last year. Returns for Petite Pearl Ltd show that the firm's accumulated profits increased by €87,975, going from €616,655 to €704,630, in the 12 months to the end of October 31st last.
