Willie Mullins company declares 2013 profits of €366,688

Mullins and wife Jackie listed as directors of horse-transport firm Closutton Transport

Trainer Willie Mullins may be enjoying record-breaking success at Cheltenham this week, but he is also on a winner at home, where his horse-transport company reported has accumulated profits of more than €365,000 in its most recent accounts.

Closutton Transport Company Ltd received fees of €248,021 in respect of its activities involving the transport of horses in 2013, increasing its accumulated profits by €33,540 after taxation to €366,688.

Tangible assets increased substantially in value, from €23,815 to €128,053 during the relevant period, while the amount the company owed decreased by 4.3 per cent to €325,655.

Mullins is listed as a director of the Carlow-based company along with his wife, Jackie. The Bagenalstown trainer has set Cheltenham alight this week, claiming victory with four of his runners on the opening day of the festival and a 1-2-3 in the prestigious Champion Hurdle.

The accounts filed to the Companies Registration Office show that his horse-transport firm owed creditors €83,431 at the end of 2013, and reported net current assets of €238,762.
