Up to 600 jobs will be on offer at a Contact Centre and Outsourcing Jobs Fair. The fair, at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin tomorrow, is aimed at jobseekers and those considering a career change.

According to a spokeswoman for the event, Sky is looking to fill 300 jobs in Dublin, Pay- pal is looking to fill 100 jobs in Dublin and Dundalk, while Amazon is looking for 50 new staff in Cork. Other firms include Accenture, Amazon, CarTrawler and EA Games.

Dorothy O’Byrne, managing director of organiser the Contact Centre Management Association, said: “The contact centre sector in Ireland is undergoing significant growth and transformation. An increasing number of international companies are establishing their global operations in Ireland and contact sector jobs are at the forefront.

“Companies such as eBay, Facebook, Eistec, Electronic Arts and PayPal have all recently announced that they are looking to recruit . . . people who have a wide variety of skills with an increasing emphasis on social media skills and an ability to communicate effectively.”
