Tech firms announce 45 new jobs

Global software company Axway is to create 15 new jobs in Dublin with the expansion of its research and development centre, while CurrencyFair, the world's first peer-to-peer currency exchange marketplace, is to add 30 jobs.

Axway is a market leader in governing the flow of data, with more than 11,000 customers in 100 countries. The expansion of the R&D centre will immediately provide 15 software engineering jobs, and more down the line as the company continues to grow.

CurrencyFair is to add 30 positions which involve a unique blend of coding and financial skills, with the opening of new purpose built offices in Dublin. The company helps businesses and consumers access competitive exchange rates for international transfers.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton said Axway's decision to expand its R&D centre of excellence and create 15 high quality jobs in Dublin is a "clear indication of Ireland's importance as a key location for technology companies to grow their business".

"There is a world class software engineering population in Ireland and we want to recruit from this talent pool. Dublin in particular is globally acknowledged as a hub of engineering excellence," Laurent Bride, executive vice president of research & development at Axway, said.

IDA chief executive Barry O’Leary said the move further reinforces Ireland as the leading location for software companies to support and service customers in the EMEA region.
