Beacon Hospital appoints medical directors

Dr Jennifer Westrup and Mr Michael Murphy have been appointed joint medical directors at Beacon Hospital, which is owned by billionaire Denis O'Brien.

Dr Westrup is currently section chief of oncology and the director of medical education at the hospital. Mr Murphy is Consultant Urologist with clinical specialities in the areas of prostrate and bladder cancers.

The Beacon Hospital in south Dublin opened in October 2006 and is led by chief executive Michael Cullen. The hospital, which treated 83,000 patients in 2013, has been linked in the market with looking at various expansion opportunities within Ireland.
