Accumulated profits at the firm slipped from €1.243 million to €1.173 million

The cash pile at Enya’s music business firm last year jumped by more than €220,000 – even though the best-selling artist hasn’t released a new album in over four years.

According to accounts for Aigle Music Ltd, co-owned by Ireland's most successful-ever female singer, its cash pile last year increased by €221,829 to €651,026.

However, accumulated profits at the firm slipped from €1.243 million to €1.173 million in the 12 months to the end of June last year.

The low-profile Donegal woman has sold 75 million albums worldwide, with more than 26 million sold in the US alone during her long career.
