Ryan Tubridy’s media firm reports loss of almost €150,000

The media firm owned by RTÉ's top earner, Ryan Tubridy, reported a loss of almost €150,000 last year in accounts just filed to the Companies Office.

However, the firm’s directors were given a pay hike of nearly €100,000, bringing their aggregate remuneration to €598,717 during the financial year to the end of August 2015.

Tubridy (43) is the sole shareholder of Tuttle Productions Limited, and is listed as a director along with his mother, Catherine Tubridy. The accounts do not indicate how the remuneration was divided between the directors.

The firm’s cash balance was cut from €80,286 to €42,825 during the 12-month period, while payments due to the company’s creditors increased from €79,047 to €186,396.

The Late Late Show host earned €495,000 from the State broadcaster in 2014, though this represents a substantial pay cut from his previous salary of €752,950, which he agreed in 2012.

Revenue at Tuttle Productions would also include income from the presenter’s stints covering for both Graham Norton and Chris Evans at BBC Radio 2.

Tubridy switched back from 2FM to RTÉ Radio 1 last September. The latest JNLR figures showed that he retains 319,000 listeners, representing a slight decrease of 3,000 since the previous JNLR release.

Meanwhile, the Late Late Show remains one of the most watched programmes on Irish television.

The accounts for Tuttle Productions do not provide details of any dividends paid to Tubridy during the financial year.
