UK retailer to open three more Dealz stores in Republic

UK-listed retailer Poundland is opening three new Dealz stores in Cork, Meath and Kildare with the creation of 80 new jobs.

The move will bring to 40 the number of shops in the Republic for Dealz, which opened here three years ago with stores in Blanchardstown and Portlaoise.

The new stores are located in Mallow, Navan and Athy.

The retailer, which targets the value end of the retail market, sells most of its products for €1.49.

The group’s revenues from the Republic amounted to £55 million for the year to the end of March 2014.

Speaking today, Dealz regional manager Leonard Brassel said: "We are delighted to be further expanding the Dealz portfolio in Ireland with our 37th store opening in Mallow, 38th opening in Navan today and our upcoming opening in Athy.

“At Dealz we are committed to bringing amazing value every day to customers with our €1.49 price point and are looking forward to bringing an extensive range of products offering amazing value to new customers in Mallow and Navan.”
