DUBLIN: UCD IS playing host to two timely business events this month

DUBLIN:UCD IS playing host to two timely business events this month. Alongside its weekly "Entrepreneurs Live" seminars, the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School will host a major seminar on the future of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ireland on Tuesday, November 4th in O'Reilly Hall, UCD.

Examining the key issues for FDI, the impressive list of speakers is led by Robert Shapiro, a former adviser to the Clinton administration in the US, and author of several books on the future of the global economy.

He's joined by former IDA chief executive Kieran McGowan, Intel Ireland general manager Jim O'Hara and Aidan Brady, country officer with Citibank Ireland.

Meanwhile Steve Collins, co-founder of Irish software firm Havok, will launch the 11th NovaUCD "Entrepreneurs Live" seminar series this Wednesday, October 8th.

The current series of seminars will feature a different Irish entrepreneur speaking every Wednesday lunchtime, between 1 pm to 1.50pm, at the NovaUCD facility on the Belfield campus until the final seminar on November 12th.

Upcoming guest speakers include Seán Mitchell of Movidia (October 15th); Seán Fee of iFoods.tv (October 22nd); Bernard Hensey of Phive Plasma Technologies (October 29th); Michael Cullen of the Beacon Medical Group (November 5th); and Declan Kearney of Supplierforce.com (November 12th).
