Great Scott! This is a real treat for fans of time-travelling teenager Marty McFly and Doctor Emmett Brown. With attractive graphics it brings us back to the adventure that began with a Delorean at Twin Pines Mall. The game is a point-and-click adventure in the mould of Monkey Island, so there’s the usual dialogue selection, room-searching and puzzle solving – effectively done, but too stately for some tastes. It takes place in 1986, one year chronologically after the first film, but after Marty and Doc have travelled to the future, the 1950s and the Wild West. This time their adventures take them to the 1930s, to thwart the Tannen crime family. Fanatics of the trilogy will welcome the loving references to the previous film, and the voice work (including the return of Christopher Lloyd) is lovely. It’s a worthy addition.
