It’s been a year since Kinect hit the shelves, so it was inevitable that one of its flagship games would be due a refresh. Kinect Sports: Season 2 brings six new games to the console: skiing, US football, tennis, darts, golf and baseball.
As before, you mimic the movements of the sport. For baseball, you can be the batter and the pitcher, and must run to base when the occasion demands it. Skiing pits you against your opponents on a slalom course; nothing surprising, but it’s good fun. Golf is limited to three-, six- and nine-hole games. You’ve got in-game voice control, which shows just what Kinect can do in terms of gameplay. And, of course, it’s slightly humiliating. That’s the whole point of Kinect Sports, isn’t it?
It's fun, you feel a bit foolish and it tires you out. Kinect Sports: Season 2doesn't make any huge improvements to a successful formula, but delivers a fun, easy-to-play title.
