Swings, ropes and catapults – where would app games be without them? Knights of the Round Table involves swinging from one object to another, gathering gems (again with the jewellery, another casual game staple) and avoiding dragons and crows. At the end of each level you bounce around trying to nab thieving birds. Hey, nobody said this game was historically accurate! It’s simple to play and agreeably packaged.
The graphics take their cue from Terry Gilliam’s Monty Python animations, only much brighter and glossier; the add-ons and bonuses are fun and consistent (different knights with different abilities become available as you progress); and the music is catchy, if cheesy. In case you haven’t noticed already, this is not a reboot of the 1990s beat-’em-up game of the same name. No, this Knights of the Round Table is a speedy, bouncy and playable little game: More Angry Birds than Arthur of Camelot.
